Join the VA Careers Talent Community and learn about working at VA

Have you signed up for the VA Careers Talent Community?

Since launching earlier this year, the VA Careers Talent Community has connected over 8,000 job seekers like you to more information about VA careers, locations and opportunities. Through this outreach, we’ve provided information that is aligned with our members’ skills, interests and preferences while staying in touch throughout their application journey.

If that sounds like something you might be interested in (and who wouldn’t be?), now’s your chance to learn more about the community and find out how to better curate your VA job-seeking experience.

There’s no community without you

The first step to exploring the VA Careers Talent Community is filling out an interest form, which will help us understand what drives you and why you want to work with Veterans. It can also be the first step on your journey to a career here at VA.

Up front, we’ll ask you about your career experience. If you’re a clinical professional, we’d like to know if you’ve ever interned or trained at a VA facility, and what your professional status is. Non-clinical professionals can tell us your current field of employment, and we’ll ask about your expertise.

After that, you’ll answer a few questions about your interest in a VA career. Whether you’re ready to apply now, just looking for information or testing the waters, your answers here will let us point you in the direction of resources and info that’s right for you.

We’ll also ask about your geographic preferences, which is just a fancy way of asking where you live (or want to live) and what kinds of communities interest you. A great thing about VA is that we have over 1,300 locations across the country and in some territories, so you can find opportunities from the beach to the boroughs, from the mountains to Main Street, and everywhere in between.

Finally, we’d like to know what employment benefits speak to you. We have a bevy of benefits for our employees, including premium health insurance plans, scholarships and loan repayment programs, retirement accounts and more. Again, the more we know about what you’re looking for, the better we’ll be able to share information that’s relevant to you.

Welcome! We’re glad you’re here

Once you’ve completed the interest form, that’s it! You’re a part of the VA Careers Talent Community. Now, it’s our turn to provide you with information that pertains to your career journey.

Across regular email updates delivered to your inbox, you’ll find out what it’s like to be part of our team. You’ll also learn about VA-exclusive programs and receive resources that can help you through the hiring process.

Through these updates, you’ll stay connected to an organization where skills like yours transform Veterans’ lives. Whether it’s stories from employees who have chosen VA or the latest in application advice, you’ll find what you need to make the switch to a VA career.
