Detroit, MI — [March 4, 2025] — The Regional Director of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Region 7 today issued a statement regarding the ongoing labor dispute between Henry Ford Health Genesys Hospital and Local 332, International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

Region 7 is investigating multiple unfair labor practice charges filed by Local 332 alleging that Henry Ford Health Genesys Hospital has failed to bargain in good faith and has taken actions that may infringe on employees’ rights under the National Labor Relations Act.  Henry Ford Health Genesys Hospital has denied the allegations and filed its own responses and submissions. 

“Our responsibility is to conduct a neutral, fact-based investigation,” said Region 7 Regional Director Elizabeth Kerwin. “We are gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and evaluating the facts to determine whether the Act has been violated. We do not advocate for either party.  Instead, we evaluate whether the conduct described in the charges is supported by evidence and whether it violates the National Labor Relations Act.  No conclusions have been reached at this time.”

If the investigation finds merit to any of the allegations and a settlement cannot be reached, Region 7 may issue a complaint and proceed to a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge.

“I want to acknowledge the professionalism and dedication of the Region 7 staff who are working diligently on this matter,” Kerwin added.  “Their commitment to careful, impartial fact-finding is essential to carrying out the Agency’s mission under the National Labor Relations Act.” 

Region 7 remains committed to a fair and timely resolution consistent with the National Labor Relations Act.
