Veteran trust in VA remained above 80% for the fourth consecutive quarter in FY2026 Q3âthe longest streak above 80% in VAâs trust-report history. The result reflects feedback from approximately 33,000 Veterans who responded to VAâs quarterly, VA-wide Veterans Signals survey.
For FY2026 Q3, 80.4% of Veterans said they trust VA to fulfill the nationâs commitment to Veterans.
VAâs quarterly trust survey measures Veteransâ overall perceptions of VA across care, benefits, memorial services and other interactions. The survey looks at four key measures: trust, ease, effectiveness and emotionâwhether Veterans feel valued by VA.
What Veterans told VA
In FY2026 Q3, 75.6% of Veterans said it was easy to get the care or service they needed, 79.6% said they received the care or service they needed and 77.8% said they felt like a valued customer.
Veterans ages 50â59 and Veterans age 60 and older saw the smallest quarter-to-quarter changes in trust. Veterans ages 40â49 saw the largest change.
Strong results across services
VA also uses 181 targeted Veteran Signals surveys to measure Veteransâ experience after specific interactions with VA health care, benefits, memorial services, appeals and other programs. Many of these service-level surveys include written comments, which help VA teams identify specific strengths, respond to concerns and improve Veteran experiences. Veterans provided more than 3.5M survey responses and 600K free-text responses in FY2026-Q3.
Several service areas recorded gains from FY2026 Q2 to Q3:
- Trust in VHA outpatient care increased from 93.4% to 93.5%.
- Trust in VHA inpatient care increased from 90.9% to 92.3%.
- Trust in VBA Education Service increased from 78.9% to 81.3%.
- Trust in Board of Veteransâ Appeals decisions increased from 56.3% to 57.7%.
- Trust and confidence in VA Community Care increased from 80.2% to 81.5%.
- VBA employee helpfulness increased from 75.1% to 76.5%.
- VBA quality ratings increased from 90.1% to 90.8%.
VA also identified specific experiences requiring additional attention, including disability compensation. VA uses these results and written feedback to focus service recovery and improve the processes Veterans rely on.
Feedback drives improvement
Every response gives VA valuable insight into what Veterans experience when they seek the care, benefits and services they have earned. This feedback helps advance a Veteran-first cultureâone that recognizes what is working, addresses concerns directly and keeps improving how VA serves Veterans.
